All programs at Wellwood are volunteer run. Our volunteers undergo a rigorous screening process and orientation, which is a win/win for Wellwood and for our volunteers by ensuring a good fit between the individual and his or her volunteer role. Wellwood is firmly committed to recognizing and celebrating the many contributions of our more than 200 active volunteers. What are the possibilities?Volunteers are needed to assist with all of our programs and services. All are welcome, but a personal or family experience with cancer may enhance our volunteers' ability to fulfill their roles. We encourage involvement from everyone. As an inclusive Centre, we especially wish to reach out to communities of colour, the aboriginal community, refugees, immigrants, persons with a disability, transgendered individuals or those from the gay and lesbian community. Opportunities exist for: peer support mentors; office support volunteers; support group facilitators; committee members; therapeutic touch practitioners; reflexologists; and more.
