Breast Cancer Peer Support - The First Two Years

This is a group of people who meet to assist and support each other, from diagnosis through treatment with the focus being on the first two years.

Together, we deal with the many psychological, informational, physical and spiritual issues that arise as a result of living with breast cancer.

Support is offered in six-week sessions (each lasting for 90 minutes) in a caring, safe and comfortable environment. Topics will reflect the needs and concerns of the group and  may include: nutrition, relaxation, prosthetics, fitness and reconstruction.

We respect individual and family autonomy and use a non-directive, self-help model approach to support and assist each other in a compassionate and non-judgmental way (through involvement, problem solving, information and exploration).

Participants respect confidentiality, and use discretion to ensure privacy and engender mutual trust.  Together, we share knowledge of community resources and help each other to access services that may be of benefit to you and to those around you.

"We are all together in this life.
We walk together on
the cancer journey."
